Noor is an Islamic prayer-times app for iOS. It is built so that your personal data stays on your device.
Nothing. Noor has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We (the developer) never receive, store, or share any data about you.
Noor asks for your location for exactly two purposes:
All calculations happen on your device using the open-source Adhan library. Your coordinates are never sent to us or to any third party. If you deny location access, the app simply cannot show prayer times or the Qibla direction; nothing is collected either way.
Adhan and adkar reminders are local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device from the prayer times it computed. No push-notification server is involved and no device token leaves your phone.
Noor connects to the internet only to download read-only religious content when you request it:
These requests contain no personal data — only the surah number being fetched. Downloaded surahs are cached on your device so re-reading works offline. Like any web request, these services technically see your IP address while serving the content; Noor sends nothing else and stores nothing remotely.
Your settings (calculation method, madhab, theme, language), Quran bookmarks, adkar progress, and daily wird checklist are stored locally on your device and, where applicable, in your personal device backups. You can remove all of it by deleting the app.
Noor collects no data from anyone, including children. It is rated 4+.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new date.
