Common questions

Why does Noor need my location?

Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated from your location, entirely on your device. Your coordinates never leave your phone. If you tap "Don't Allow," you can enable it later in the iOS Settings app under Noor → Location.

Prayer times look wrong

Open Settings inside Noor and pick the calculation method and madhab your local mosque uses (twelve methods are supported). You can also adjust the Hijri date by ±2 days for local moon sighting.

I'm not getting adhan notifications

Turn on notifications in Noor's Settings, choose which prayers should notify, and make sure notifications are allowed for Noor in the iOS Settings app. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.

Does the Quran work offline?

Surahs you open are downloaded once and cached, so re-reading works without a connection. The first time you open a surah, an internet connection is needed to fetch it.
